Greek fish Plaki (A Greek delicacy)

Plaki is a way to prepare fish that it’s so delicious and easy at the same time.

A very old recipe that comes along nicely with time and it pleases even the new generation of foodies.

I always try to find new ways to make fish and somehow I overlooked this Plaki recipe, my mother’s favorite one, I love fish and sea food I can exist by having just fish, imagine…

Here is the recipe for  fish Plaki

3 filets of fresh cod

¼ cup olive oil

1 large onion sliced

1 small bunch flat leaf parsley

2 cloves garlic

1 carrot

1 cup good wine (red or white will do)

1 cup tomato juice

4 tbsp prepared tomato sauce (the vegetable one)

 Salt, pepper, 1/2 tsp sugar, garlic salt and ½ cup breadcrumbs

Here is how to make  fish Plaki  the Greek way

Place the fish in an oven proof pan and lightly season  the fish

In a heavy frying pan add the oil and the cut vegetables

Sauté the vegetables with love for a few minutes

Deglaze with the wine and add the tomato

Cook for a few minutes and taste to make sure it’s delicious. Adjust the seasonings

Spoon the sauce over the fish sprinkle with the breadcrumbs and bake in a hot oven.

Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes and be ready to enjoy Plaki fish Plaki extraordinaire!
